At Bella Forma Cosmetic Surgery Center we coined the phrase “Brazilian Tummy Tuck” (BTT) to explain the difference of this method from the “Traditional Tummy Tuck” (TTT).
In Brazilian Tummy Tuck we perform a complete Liposuction of the fat under the skin marked for removal and cut only the skin part, leaving very important nerves, blood vessels and lymphatics intact. Drains are minimally used and the recovery is 50% faster than Traditional Tummy Tuck.
In Traditional Tummy Tuck, very limited liposuction is performed in the upper abdomen and the skin with the fat layer marked for excision are removed en-block thus, removing nerves, blood vessels and lymphatic channels. Drains are used for several weeks with a prolonged downtime.
A 3-D liposculpture with a Brazilian Butt Lift is usually performed on patients undergoing Brazilian Tummy Tuck and not Traditional Tummy Tuck. The results are dramatic and patients love the transformation.
Pain is easily controlled with medications and special post-op body treatments created at Bella Forma Med Spa to help patient recover faster.
You arrive at a cocktail party with a stunning body, beautifully fitting dress, elegant high heel shoes, and make-up done; completely stunning to those watching you. As you walk in everyone stares in awe following your every move and angle.
This is what we as women strive for when it comes to our bodies. Therefore, it is imperative that you understand what a Brazilian Butt Lift means to one surgeon.
The Brazilian Butt lift is a misunderstood phrase used by many patients and surgeons. It is a sculpturing technique and not only fat transfer to the buttock. It is a dual procedure:
- Subtractive: removal of fat (or skin) that surrounds the gluteus in order to achieve an ideal form.
- Additive: placement of fat (or silicone implant) to specific defects in order to correct contouring and projection.
The “frame” (skin, fat, bone) should be adequately evaluated in order to determine how the gluteus (muscle) will appear after the Subtractive phase. Adding silicone implants or fat can then be decided upon by both, the patient and the surgeon.
Indications for major weight loss patients with more skin laxity than fat are not similar to those with more fat and good skin elasticity. Therefore, your decision should be based on your particular anatomy and medical condition in order to arrive at a realistic expectation.
Brazilian Butt Lift is a two step sculpturing and filling technique that enhances the roundedness and lift appearance of the butt.
At Bella Forma Cosmetic Surgery Center, the Brazilian butt lift evolved into a two step procedure:
1) Subtractive – Liposuction is performed around the gluteal area to remove fat in a certain way that improves form and contouring. A procedure called Lipo-V-plasty of the sacral area is sometimes used to sculpture the upper cheek area.
2) Additive – fat removed during liposuction is processed and transferred using special cannulas in order to achieve projection and lift depending on patient’s desire. Brazilian Butt Lift is best achieved in conjunction with a liposculpturing of the body to achieve a homogenous appearance.
